Location: Glenview neighborhood, lower hills, Oakland
Ages & Levels: All ages and levels welcome. I enjoy the spark both of an elementary school beginner to the intellectual approach with an adult learner.
Styles: Your interests guide the lessons from Bach to Brahms to Adele and Traditional fiddle tunes. I will help you arrive at your musical destination!
About: I studied cello with Bonnie Hampton at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and recently got a Master of Arts in Teaching from Longy School of Music of Bard College. Although I am classically trained I have played and explored many genres including Jazz, Americana, string improvisation and folk music from the Balkans and Sweden. I am also an arranger and composer and can help you develop this on your cello! I am a life-long music learner and attend music camps and workshops whenever I can (Balkan Camp, Lark in the Morning, Sierra Fiddle Camp, Fiddle Tunes). I played with Real Vocal String Quartet for 10 years where we developed a global music sound along with simultaneous singing. We arranged music from Pop songs to Brazilian Choro, wrote original material, and we rehearsed like a Classical quartet--with attention to detail in style, intonation, and precision in rhythm and groove.
