Second only to the work of the great Parisian bow maker François Tourte, the bows of Nikolai Kittel are considered among the finest ever made. He employed some of the finest makers of the time, including Ludwig Bausch and Heinrich Knopf, who worked to the very highest standards demanded by Kittel. This fine cello bow is offered at an attractive price due to the fact that the frog and button, while crafted in the Kittel style, are not original to the bow.

This exceptional bow was the property of the great cellist and teacher János Starker. It is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Kenneth Warren & Son, Chicago. We are especially delighted to offer this fine cello bow due to the fact that Kittel bows come on the market so rarely.
