The Laberte family of violin makers was famous world-wide for their important violin making workshops. They were key figures in Mirecourt violin making from the 1780’s until the closing of Laberte-Humbert Frères in 1963. Marc Laberte was especially respected for his fine work. He had a large collection of fine old instruments which served as inspiration for the exceptional instruments produced by their workshop.

This beautifully made violin has an unusually elegant triple purfling.
