Instruments by Joseph Couturieux, although somewhat rare, are of excellent quality. He worked with J.B. Vuillaume in Paris before setting up a successful workshop in Mirecourt. He was active between 1830 and 1850.

This fine violin is branded and signed by the maker. The tone is wonderfully clear and balanced.
