Born in 1877, Alfred Vincent opened his workshop in 1902. He soon developed a reputation for his beautifully made instruments. In 1923 he won first prize at a major competition and was dubbed "The English Stradivari". During his long career, he made over 300 instruments and bequeathed a quartet of instruments to the Royal Academy of Music that is still being played on today.
For the violinist looking for clarity of tone, responsiveness, and ease in playing, this is an outstanding choice.
