Marc Laberte was a key figure in the lutherie of Mirecourt. He was the director of Laberte-Humbert Frères, one of the most important of the great Mirecourt workshops. He also had a collection of the finest old classical instruments which served as models and inspiration for the fine instruments which came from the Laberte shop. The wood chosen for this fine cello is beautiful and striking. It plays as lovely as it looks.
