Frank Ravatin is generally considered one of the most respected violin makers working today. His instruments are in such demand that there is a waiting list of well over a year. He graduated from the Cremona violin making school where he studied with Giorgio Scolari among others. He then moved to Paris where he worked with Jacques Camarut. In 1991, he established his own workshop in Le Manes, then moving to Vannes where he remains today. The list of awards at major competitions is quite amazing, including several gold medals at the Violin Society of America competitions among many others. He may well be one of the most decorated of contemporary makers.

Given how much demand there is for his instruments, we are particularly pleased to be able to offer this especially fine Ravatin violin. The tone is very smooth and strong and is quite easy to play.
