Derwent Angier began his violin making career in the 1950's while still in the U.S. Navy. He continued making while teaching high school music. He established his own successful violin shop in Rochester, New York, in 1973. He moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1983, working with The Guarneri House. His instruments are well-known and appreciated for their beautiful workmanship and attention to detail, and they are sought after by advanced players and professionals alike.
