The sheep gut core of the Oliv strings is manufactured, wound and polished in the traditional way, by hand. Oliv strings offer the typical beautiful sound of gut strings. The sound is brilliant with a rich and complex tone. These gut-core strings are stored and sold straight with no envelope.

Pirastro Passione Violin A: 

Passione is the gut string with increased tuning stability. The strings are handmade, finely wound and polished. They produce a powerful sound with a very easy response. Compared to traditional gut core strings, they have significantly increased tuning stability.

Passione strings are immediately playable, more so than traditional gut strings. Passione Solo is available in medium gauge only. The strings are slightly thicker than the medium gauge of the Passione strings.

Pirastro Violino Violin Set 3/4-1/2 size:

Violino strings have a core made from a modern synthetic multifilament fibre. The sound is warm, smooth and round sound. They have a relatively low string tension and excellent tuning stability. Violino strings are very easy to play, have a soft and gentle touch and a fast response, allowing the strings to speak easily even at the lowest bow pressure. We recommend these strings for brighter student instruments or as a lower cost alternative to Pirastro Obligato strings.
