The William Harris Lee workshop was founded in 1978 and has become one of the most important Lutherie workshops in America. Located at their original location at 410 South Michigan in Chicago where his brother, bowmaker John Norwood Lee, as well as Bein & Fushi are also located.
This fine cello was made by Thanh Kim, one of the finest makers at the W.H. Lee shop and is of slightly small dimensions (between 3/4 and 7/8ths size) with the top slightly larger than the back, but has a wonderful sound. It’s fun to play with a nice balance and surprising resonance for its comfortable size.
