The Lamy dynasty is truly one of the greatest families of French bow making. George Lamy was the son of Alfred Lamy (known as Alfred Lamy fils). He trained in his father's workshop and continued working with him. He was clearly a gifted maker whose own work is almost identical to that of his father's. George was only 34 years old when he died in 1915 of wounds suffered in battle during WWI.

Given his great skill he could have gone on to great fame on his own account as one of the great 20th century Parisian bow makers.
