August Rau is considered one of the most important and respected bow makers of his time. He started his training in the Albert Nürnberger workshop before working with W.Knopf and A.R. Weichold in Dresden. He established his own workshop in Markneukirchen in 1890 and continued on until 1939. His work is extremely elegant and he used only the finest materials.
