For 37 years Leo Aschauer was the director of the famous violin making school in Mittenwald, and a highly respected maker. Over the years he made a number of instruments for William Moennig and Sons in Philadelphia. This viola is an exceptionally fine example of Aschauer's work and is in almost perfect condition. At 16 1/8", it is the perfect size for most players.
