About the author:

James Shallenberger needs no introduction for long-time residents of the Bay Area, but for those of our customers who are not from around here:

James Shallenberger has been an active violinist in the San Francisco Bay ARea for the past 30 years. He studied at UC Berkeley, UW Seattle and in England with Kato Havas. He has played with the major orchestras and chamber groups in San Francisco, including the San Francisco Symphony and the Kronos String Quartet. He is a devoted teacher; his life-ling expansive teaching experience has led him to discover and refine many of the principles presented in this book. He teaches privately, as well as at the Crowden School and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
