A graduate of the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City, Widenhouse established his own shop in 1990. Among his prizes include a gold medal at the 1988 and 1994 Violin Society of America competitions. Aaron Rosand and Alexandre Brussilovsky are among the many fine violinists who have commissioned his instruments. This violin has an exceptionally warm tone, rich with overtones.
Eschenback studied with Heberlein in his native Markneukirchen before moving to New York in 1923.He was the head of the repair department at the prestigious firm Carl Fischer, who also sold Eschenbach's instruments. This instrument is very attractive, and has a striking resemblance to the best period of the Roth workshop.
