A remarkable luthier with a prolific career, Rodolfo Fredi was born a count and studied with his father. After studying at the Rome conservatory, he set up his own workshop where he quickly gained renown as a talented repairman in addition to being a fine luthier. He won several awards at competitions including Turin, 1911, and Rome, 1917. This violin is one of the last instruments he made. It is very easy to play and has a sweet, strong tone.
