Pieve de Cento, 1949 16 3/4 " Genuzio was born in 1905 and was trained by his uncle Carlo. He was a very gifted maker who won numerous awards for his work. We have had a number of his instruments over the years and have greatly admired his work. This viola is in almost perfect condition and has a wonderful full, rich tone.
Paris, 1910. 16 1/2" The Chardon family were among the most important makers and dealers in Paris. Father Georges studied with Georges Chanot before opening his own shop in 1872. This viola is in fine condition and has a warm, full tone with great character and pleasing depth.
Pieve de Cento, 1951, with the participation of Joseph Settin, New York, 16 5/8" The Carletti family supplied many of their instruments to Joseph Settin, an important maker and dealer in New York. The instruments labeled "Carsetinius" were purchased from Genuzio and finish work by Settin in New York. This excellent viola has a wonderful, large, warm tone.
