Genuzio Carletti
Pieve de Cento, 1949 16 3/4 "
Genuzio was born in 1905 and was trained by his uncle Carlo. He was a very gifted maker who won numerous awards for his work. We have had a number of his instruments over the years and have greatly admired his work. This viola is in almost perfect condition and has a wonderful full, rich tone.
Chardon Pere e Fils
Paris, 1910. 16 1/2" The Chardon family were among the most important makers and dealers in Paris. Father Georges studied with Georges Chanot before opening his own shop in 1872. This viola is in fine condition and has a warm, full tone with great character and pleasing depth.
Genuzio Carletti
Pieve de Cento, 1951, with the participation of Joseph Settin, New York, 16 5/8"
The Carletti family supplied many of their instruments to Joseph Settin, an important maker and dealer in New York. The instruments labeled "Carsetinius" were purchased from Genuzio and finish work by Settin in New York. This excellent viola has a wonderful, large, warm tone.

This beautiful, elegant viola has a fine resonant tone.
Joseph Grubaugh & Sigrun Seifert
Petaluma, 1991, 16 1/4" The husband and wife team of Grubaugh and Seifert are well known in the Bay Area, especially for their cellos. This viola is unusual in that it is not antiqued. It is in flawless condition with a superb golden yellow varnish.
John Harrison
Redding, CA 1999. 15 3/4 "
Bruno Dreux
Orleans, 1992. 16 1/4" This beautifully crafted and varnished viola has a full, broad and dark tone, with a clear, nimble response even in the highest registers.

Werner Voigt
Markneukirchen, 1971, made for William Moennig & Sons 16 3/4"
After his training in Markenukirchen, Voigt worked at a number of important shops in Germany and Switzerland. After the war, he opened his workshop in Markneukirchen and became known and respected for his work, winning numerous prizes and other distinctions. This viola has a wonderful, huge tone and is surprisingly comfortable to play, given its size.
Paul Hart
Salt lake City, 1994, 16 1/2"
This is an exceptionally nice instrument by Paul Hart Built on the Maggini model.
Daniel Delfour
Toulouse, 2003, 16 1/2". We have been offering the Delfour instruments for many years with great success. This beautiful viola has a clear, warm tone.
Francis Kuttner
Cremona, 1978, 16 1/8"
An early work of this important contemporary maker, made while he was studying in Cremona.
Matthieu Bessling
Amsterdam, 1981. 16 1/4" Bessling is one of the most important makers in Northern Europe. Over the years we have sold several of his instruments and they always have excellent tonal qualities.

Giovanni Rosadoni
Como, 1970. 16 1/4"
Born in 1905, Rosadoni concentrated on viola making. This nice viola represents an exceptional value in a well made Italian instrument.
Jacob Thoma
Boston, 1905, 16"
Born in Hungary, Thoma had a very successful career as a maker in Vienna before coming to Boston in 1889 where he was highly respected for his instruments and for his repairs and restorations. This viola would be an excellent choice for the violinist transitioning to the viola.
