Stamped Gand & Bernardel. Son of a Mirecourt violin maker, Barbé apprenticed with C.N.Bazin before moving to Paris where he worked for Gand & Bernardel. He returned to Mirecourt and made bows for the major shops in Paris. His work was very elegant and resembles the best work of F.N.Voirin.

Mirecourt. Eugène Cuniot (known as Cuniot-Hury) established his firm in 1884 and continued until his death in 1910 when it was taken over by Emile F. Ouchard, who quite possibly made this bow. Because it is nickel mounted, it is an excellent value.
